TPO Roofing Contractor in Chicago

TPO is a reflective, heat-welded single-ply membrane used on many Chicago flat and low-slope roofs. Its performance depends on the full assembly: deck condition, insulation, attachment, seams, flashing, penetrations and drainage.

More than a white membrane

A successful TPO installation begins with a suitable substrate and a roof plan that addresses wet materials, low areas, drains, scuppers, parapets, curbs and penetrations. The visible membrane is only one part of the assembly.

Overlay or complete tear-off

An overlay can be appropriate when the existing system is dry, stable, compatible and allowed by project conditions. A tear-off provides access to damaged insulation and decking when moisture, deterioration, excess layers or structural concerns are present.

Seams and details built for exposure

Field seams and flashing details are heat welded, and perimeter conditions receive careful attention because wind, standing water and movement often expose weak transitions first.

TPO Roofing questions

Is TPO suitable for Chicago weather?

Yes, when the complete roof assembly is properly designed and installed for the building, drainage and exposure.

Can TPO be installed over an existing roof?

Sometimes. Existing layers, moisture, deck condition, attachment, weight, compatibility and code requirements must be evaluated first.

Do you install tapered insulation?

Yes. Tapered insulation may be used to improve slope toward drains, scuppers or gutters when the roof design and conditions allow it.
